Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Christians should be teaching their children (age appropriately) that:

  • there is a spiritual world filled with goodness from God and evil from Satan (Eph. 2:1-10);
  • life with Christ has power over darkness (1 John 4:4); and
  • those who celebrate Halloween either are unaware of its roots, or are intentionally promoting a world where evil is lauded and viewed as an ultimate power.
To counter the evil influence of Halloween, we need to join together and celebrate the reality of the heroic efforts of Christians over the evil in their day. Many leaders in the past — and present — have fulfilled the mandate of destroying the works of the devil through their sacrificial commitment to Christ and His Kingdom.

“Why Now?”

2 Corinthians 6:2
For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.”

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

This is the Mega question that is being asked in the nation’s today right now “is this the time” could it not be another time, well in fact the scriptures are clear today that faith in God works in the “Now” never had there been such a critical season as it is now for the prophetic word of God is coming to pass so quickly that we as Believers must now prepare ourselves to see the Savior face-to-face.

We repeat that no time is so critical as now the hour is crucial for us to respond to the call of God to do evangelism, souls are hanging in the balance and the Lord said pray for the Harvest that he would send laborers.

“Now” is the one word that preps us for Eternity We read in Hebrews 11 1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” and Heb 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Both of these verses are very essential to the success of any believer’s trust in the Lord in all possibilities “purpose” must be the quest to seek the truth in Christ Jesus Himself.

No other than Jesus can attest to the Miracles and Power that proceeds from the throne of God’s Grace and His Presence. I am convinced that the truth concerning all of our fears are rooted in the spirit of unbelief and that the instruction given to us by God’s Word is the ultimate answer required to see powerful results of the Covenant promises the Lord Jesus made to us By Holy Name, accessible to all that we have spiritually inherited from Him. How amazing is that? That we are heirs and Joint heirs together with Him for good.

Therefore, We can manage our lives through faith, gaining wisdom in victory every day according to His good pleasure toward us, based solely on His Righteous Promises. The big question today is “Are You Ready”? I am, let’s Go and Receive All that the Lord has Planned and Stored Up for Us. Jeremiah 33:3 says it all “Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you Great and Mighty things that you know not of. By the way this is the Day and Year of Jubilee. Why Now? Because it’s Time!!!

Stay the Course – Isaiah 35:8

“And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. “

“Stay the course” is a phrase used in the context of a war or battle meaning to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism. You may be wondering what does this have to do with my Christian walk?

As children of God we are adopted sons and daughters, therefore we have been given a mandate, a purpose, a vision, and a destiny for our lives. Paul wrote to the Corinthian Church, “though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.” 2 Corinthians 10:3. By remembering that we are “not of this world,” remembering that these things are just for a little while, we can see them in a different light. We are still in this world but we are no longer of it (John 17:14). We are still surrounded by all the horrors and tragedy of this life, but this is not our life (Philippians 3:8-14). We are engaged at a spiritual level, and we are called to live our lives differently than those who are trying to “survive” in this world.

To STAY THE COURSE means that we must be intentional with pursuing our destiny. What does this mean? We must “Intentionally” speak to the Lord daily. We must “Intentionally” listen for His voice—set aside anything that will distract, disrupt, or derail us. We are to be “Intentional” when it comes to  applying kingdom principles in our daily lives; at home, on the job, at school, or when we are out in the market place.

STAY THE COURSE means that we must pursue with  EXCELLENCE those things that Jesus desires most for us. We are not to choose the wayward directions, but stay on the course of TRUTH which is found in written Word of God.

We must HOLD FAST to those things which were established by Christ Jesus some 2,000 years ago when he walked on this earth. He did all of this for you and for me out of the motive of LOVE:
Live Out Veritably Every opportunity with excellence. That is excellence in your home, excellence on your job, excellence in your academic studies, excellence in your ministry, and excellence in your daily walk with Jesus.

No matter what – STAY THE COURSE!
And see What the Lord will do for you, with
you, and through you.

His Representatives

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20 At the moment we are born-again, we become new creatures. Not only this, but at the moment of our conception into faith we become His representatives on earth. Now, when we say we are Christians, we are saying we are a reflection of Jesus. (Which can be challenging at times!) We will never be perfect – that’s for certain. That’s why we needed Christ in our lives in the first place. But even though we know we’re still full of flaws, it doesn’t mean we aren’t striving for God’s reflection in our lives. The moment we are saved we become ambassadors for His kingdom, wherever we are. We become His ministers, in whatever we are doing. We grow in love as His sons and daughters. Day by day, we become more like Him, as we study His word and spend time worshiping Him and allowing His Spirit to fill us, to mold us, and to use us. There is nothing to be afraid of – He knows we will fall short. That is why He has given us His gift of grace to help us when we make mistakes. Imagine you are working for a company, one of the best in the world. This company is known for its service excellence and the way it treats its customers, employees, and the community. You have just been hired to be on the sales team, and you go through the training to learn the company rules and procedures. These policies aren’t too distant from those found in the Bible. In order to keep your position however, and grow in the company, you must attempt to follow those rules and procedures to the best of your ability. Sure, there are fun days at work. Sure, challenges will happen. But, the policies and procedures will help to guide you through the business landscapes you will endure. Being a Christian isn’t all that different – the Bible is our guide. As we walk into our future in Him, we move knowing that our lives are a reflection of His love, grace, mercy, beauty, strength, and everything else that He is. Consider yourself a sales representative for the greatest franchise in history – the Kingdom of God. Both an exciting and sobering concept, huh? May we grow in faith, grace, excellence, integrity, and most of all love, as we discover who we really are as His representatives on earth.
